What is Malic acid?
Malic acid, also known as 2 hydroxybutanedioic acid, has two stereoisomers due to an asymmetric carbon atom in the molecule. In nature, it exists in three forms, D-malic acid, L-malic acid and its mixture DL-malic acid, as white crystals or crystalline powder with strong hygroscopicity. Naturally occurring malic acid is all L-type, and is found in almost all fruits, with the most abundant in the nuts.L-Malic Acid is an essential organic acid and an ideal low calorie food additive. When 50% L-Malic Acid is combined with 20% Citric Acid, a strong natural fruit flavor is achieved.

Malic acid is a white crystalline or crystalline powder with strong hygroscopicity and is readily soluble in water and ethanol. It has a special and pleasant sour taste. L-malic acid is mainly used in the food and industries.

L-malic acid contains natural moisturizing ingredients that can remove wrinkles on the skin surface, making the skin tender, fair, smooth and elastic.
