Chemical properties: An addition polymer of polyethylene oxide and water. With a molecular weight of less than 700, it is a colorless, odorless, non-volatile viscous liquid at 20℃ and has a slight hygroscopicity. It is a semi-solid with a molecular weight between 700 and 900. It is a light white waxy solid or flaky paraffin or liquid powder with a molecular weight of 1000 or above. It is readily soluble in water, soluble in many organic solvents, but insoluble in most aliphatic hydrocarbons and ethers.
