In recent years, the industrial uses of palm oil have developed rapidly. In developed countries, a large amount of palm oil is used for industrial purposes. In China, palm industrial products are known as "industrial monosodium glutamate", which fully demonstrates their wide application. Refined palm oil for industrial use, with a melting point of no less than 44ºC, is mainly used in the production of soap, stearic acid and glycerin. The annual demand is basically over 100,000 tons. In recent years, with the increase in crude oil prices, the theme of biofuels has been reexplored. The application of palm oil as a biofuel has been discovered, becoming a new growth point for the future use of palm oil. Many scholars have prepared biodiesel from palm oil and palm kernel oil, which has been used in industrial production in Europe, Malaysia and other places. However, there is no comprehensive and in-depth research on it in China at present. Palm oil is mainly divided into two categories in industrial applications: one is directly obtained from palm products, such as soaps, epoxy palm oil and its polyols, polyurethanes and polyacrylate products. Another type is the oil and fat chemical products, such as fatty acids, esters, fatty alcohols, nitrogen-containing compounds and glycerol. Based on these products, various derivative products can also be produced through different chemical methods. The main raw materials for oil and fat chemical industry are oils rich in carbon chain lengths of C12-C14 and C16-C18, among which palm kernel oil, palmitostearin and palmitic acid are all major raw materials.
